The mod was officially completed in 2012 after which fans have been requesting the developers to include Vikings as part of an expansion of their mod.

Brytenwalda was one of these game changing mods which set the game in 7 th century northern Europe at the beginning of the Dark Ages.

Many new mods have been made by players and fans which greatly improve the game or alter it in some way. So the community took over what the developers had since left neglected. This time the game is set in 17 th century Europe.

Sadly, Taleworlds Entertainment, the developers behind the series have completely ignored the series since and instead chose to focus on working and releasing its standalone expansion of the original game, titled Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword. Mount & Blade Warband released nearly four years ago for the PC and introduced some great game changing features like the ability for players to create their own kingdom, multiplayer, the Sarranid Sultunate and a lot more which was a huge change to the original Mount & Blade series of 2008.
